The only valentine I need

I took a photo of a fucking steak in the store and put it on the internet and now almost 16 thousand people have it on their blogs, I wonder whoever has this steak knows how famous it is. I bet this cow is in cow heaven wearing sunglasses and shunning the other cows because now a piece of his fucking body is on 16 thousand people’s blogs. I need to sit down for a minute.

Levar Burton is serving up some realness again.

What did you think of the last slavery film to have a big cultural footprint, Django Unchained? Quentin Tarantino argued it was one of the few slave movies about black empowerment.
[Chuckles] Yeah, well …

Do I sense skepticism in your voice?
[More chuckles] Yes. Django Unchained is a fantasy, let’s be clear. And when Quentin Tarantino says that Django is more real than Roots, I call bullshit. I got nothing against him, but don’t go there, okay? Don’t go there, Quentin. Too many people who look like me bled and died for you to have the opportunity to satirize the slave narrative. There’s a place for satire in culture. Taken at face value, as a piece of satire, I went and enjoyed it. It was fun. Let’s just not get it twisted. Django was not real.

BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOP

Oooooooop get em!

He didn’t host READING Rainbow for nothing…

^^^lol at that last comment

Because I still hate the fact that Django Unchained was made.

one of my fav scenes to be honest, cause lawd knws if they allowed black folks in the league maaaaaaan listen, alot of what ifs possiblities

This film, “A League of Their Own” dedicates so many scenes to issues like sexism.

Yet, blink too fast and you’ll miss this short scene…the one that shows how Black women were barred from the league.

The Black woman is supposed to represent Mamie “Peanut” Johnson (who actually did try out for the league). She wasn’t allowed to play and went on to be one of the few women to play with men in the Negro League.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A FILM ABOUT JOHNSON AND THE OTHER WOMEN WHO PLAYED FOR THE NEGRO LEAGUE! But Hollywood …

"Consensual sex" is just sex. To say that implies that there is such a thing as "non consensual sex", which there isn’t. That’s rape. That is what it needs to be called. There is only sex or rape. Do not teach people that rape is just another type of sex. They are two very separate events. You wouldn’t say "breathing swimming" and "non breathing swimming", you say swimming and drowning.
